Visa Regime

Tamchy SFIT has a special visa regime, regulated in detail by KR Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 118 of 18.02.2026 and the Checkpoint Access Regime Procedure (Annex to said Resolution). 7 special categories of Tamchy visas are provided.

Tamchy Visa Types

6 types of special Tamchy visas are available at SFIT:

1) Tamchy-Intra (type TIA)

    • Purpose: short-term visits, familiarization trips, meetings.
    • Valid: up to 30 calendar days.
    • Travel out and absence: up to 3 times for 7 days.
    • Documents: photo on white background, copy of ID, petition from the managing company.

2) Tamchy-Business (type TB)

    • Purpose: business activities and participation in business projects.
    • Valid: up to 180 calendar days.
    • Extension: up to 60 days (one-time).
    • Travel out and absence: no more than 5 times for 20 days.
    • Documents: photo, copy of ID, petition with supporting documents and applicant status.

3) Tamchy-Invest (type TI)

    • Purpose: investment activities.
    • Valid: up to 5 years.
    • Travel out and absence: unlimited.
    • Requirements: confirmed contribution of the amount determined by the managing company.
    • Bonus: consular fees waived for Tamchy-Family visas for investor family members.

4) Tamchy-Employee (type TE)

    • Purpose: employment at SFIT.
    • Valid: up to 1 year.
    • Travel out and absence: no more than 5 times for 10 days.
    • Additional requirements for work outside SFIT: deposit from the managing company and a medical certificate.

5) Tamchy-Resident (type TR)

    • Purpose: for owners of residential property and recreational homes at SFIT.
    • Valid: up to 1 year (may be extended for the same period).
    • Travel out and absence: no more than 5 times for 20 days.
    • Documents: photo, copy of ID, petition, and property title documents.

6) Tamchy-Family (type TF)

    • Purpose: for family members of TIA, TB, TI, TE, TR visa holders.
    • Family members: spouse, children under 18, parents of minor children, children with disabilities, dependent parents.
    • Valid: for the period of the inviting person's visa.

7) Tamchy-Guest (type TG)

    • Purpose: guest visits, tourism, short-term stays at SFIT.
    • Valid: up to 30 calendar days.

Visa-Free Regime and Transit Zone

For those arriving via Issyk-Kul Airport exclusively to SFIT, a visa-free regime of 96 hours (4 days) applies. They enter through a special corridor (transit zone) without undergoing KR control procedures. Persons in transit are not considered to have entered KR territory. Persons who do not require a KR visa (under visa-free agreements) may enter/exit following the general procedure without obtaining special Tamchy visas (para. 14 of the Procedure).

Checkpoints

4 types of checkpoints are established:

    • Tamchy-Road checkpoint — for persons, vehicles, cargo, goods and animals crossing the SFIT border by land.
    • Tamchy-Air Passenger checkpoint — for persons arriving via Issyk-Kul Airport and proceeding to KR territory without entering SFIT.
    • Tamchy-Air Cargo checkpoint — for goods arriving via the airport and proceeding to KR territory.
    • Tamchy-Shore checkpoint (beach-park zone) — exclusively for passage of persons who are not authorized to move cargo or goods.

Visa Processing Times

    • Standard processing of Tamchy electronic visa: 5 business days.
    • Expedited processing (with expedited processing fee): 2 business days.
    • Application through the Electronic Visa portal.
    • Petitions are submitted by the SFIT managing company.

Rights of KR Citizens

    • Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic have the right of free entry, stay, and departure from SFIT with a valid passport.
    • Registration in ESUVM (Unified External Migration Accounting System) is mandatory.
    • The managing company shall guarantee KR citizens unimpeded access to and stay at SFIT.

Deportation and Liability

    • Persons who violate the visa regime (except Tamchy-Employee and Tamchy-Intra visas) are subject to deportation at the expense of the managing company.
    • The managing company is responsible for compliance with the accounting and control procedures and timely provision of data to relevant authorities.
